Purpose of the Role
ESI Media – Publishers of The Independent’s suite of digital products, The London Evening Standard and Broadcasters of London Live TV – are looking to recruit a Head of Product to lead the Digital Product & Design team.
As Head of Product, you will lead the development of the next generation of digital experiences for all newspaper titles. You will report to the Consumer MD and form part of the senior management team.
You will manage, motivate and mentor a team of Product Managers, UX Designers, Product/Digital designers, ensuring that the team continues to grow as an essential part of the business and that product and design thinking is valued within the company.

Work with stakeholders to define the Product strategy and direction for the business
Own the overall Product roadmap for the business and drive delivery of strategic projects
Work closely with the CTO to manage delivery of the agreed product development roadmap
Manage, mentor and support the Product & Design team to achieve their goals and career development
Evaluate and understand market trends and client and customer needs to drive product development.
Develop and nurture relationships with other publishers and technology partners
Manage third-party providers and agencies to ensure we are getting value from relationships
Essential Skills & Experience Required
At least 10 years experience in Digital Product Management or Development for a consumer focused business
At least 5 years experience of team management
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
Excellent analytical skills & experienced in using analytics to drive Product decisions.
Motivated self starter; problem solver, enjoys creating something new. Action orientated with a clear focus on delivery.
Proven ability in dealing with and presenting to senior management teams
Experience of working within a fast-paced and deadline-focused environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be eligible to work in the UK
